Since 1988 ribbers have been descending upon Naperville for the annual festival of Ribfest.

It began with a traveling rib man from Michigan named Billy Bones who helped organize a few friends to barbecue at Rotary Hill and sling some of their finest work. The Daily Herald said, “The hill filled with people. The beer ran out.” Solemn Oath didn’t exist back then and we still haven’t managed to get our local beers into the fest, but that doesn’t mean we are going to hold off from shoulder-plowing our way into a massive celebration in our community.

Introducing Lu’s Ripfest with Solemn Oath and Jimmy’s Grill, a celebration of our always rippable kolsch-style ale.

Stage Zero: What the hell is it?

It’s a three dollar pour of Lü, a beer that was awarded a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival. The special price will run at two prime locations throughout the Ribfest. Hitting the fest? Start and finish your adventure at Jimmy’s Grill. Staying away from the madness? We have you covered at the brewery.

Stage One: Jimmy’s Grill

Three dollar cans ripping on one of Naperville’s best patios all week long. We’re kicking things off with several members of the Solemn Oath crew hanging around 7PM on July 3rd. Join us and the crew from Jimmy’s at 245 S Washington St in Naperville.

Stage Two: The Brewery

We’re getting things going on the first day with some satellite ribs of our own. $3 pours of Lü and freshly smothered slabs of ribs from our friends at Best Truckin’ BBQ. If you’re hitting the road this weekend we’ll also be slinging $25 cases on July 3rd and 4th. Nothing says I’m doing nothing but sitting in this tube on the river all day like a low ABV refreshing ripper.

Stage Three: We Rip

This is actually occurs during Stage One and Two. Hit us up on the socials if you have questions. We’re always around.

The goal we have at Solemn Oath is simple. And maybe someday you will figure out what that goal really is. We’re going to change the world, probably. Enjoy.
