We have no intention of even trying to catch our breath in 2018. Our brew calendar is packed with a healthy balance of innovative beers in the styles you seek, innovative beers in the styles you SHOULD seek, and classic SOB standbys for everyday crushers.

This month we’re dropping a brand new year-round instigator, a slight end of winter warmer of Belgian inspiration, one of the most celebrated DIPAs we ever release, a hot off the press American India Pale Ale to fill that empty hole in your soul, and more. Buckle up, stay in tune with what we’re talking about, and keep an eye out for the newest of the new and the freshest of the fresh. The Solemn Oath beer-centric chaos of 2018 is in full swing.

End All Stills5

End All IPA

American IPA
6% ABV
The newest addition to the year-round SOB lineup starts to drop in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison markets-wide on February 12. This properly hazed juicer gives nod to our homies out east and puts a can in your hand you may never wish to put down. At a time when the world seems to be spinnin’ out of control, this beer is designed to be one you can rely on. One note, on February 23rd we’re partnering with the world class human beings of Bien Trucha and Quiubo at the brewery to redefine your understanding of what hot actually means with the End All Taco.

Belgian-Style Tripel
9% ABV
Back in 1930s a brewer named Hendrik Verlinden changed the Belgian beer game with the introduction of what has now become the modern tripel. For Interrobang we strive to stay true to style with aromatics of juicy fruit and earth-focued hops with a slight warmth and lingering sweetness. This is your life and you should always try to learn, so why ask questions without enthusiasm‽

Pain Cave

American Double India Pale Ale
9% ABV
Often celebrated but never imitated (out of pure fear of retaliation). Welcome to the return of Pain Cave DIPA. Crisp, citrusy, firmly bitter, and inspired by what generations have all agreed upon and deemed the greatest characters in stage, television, and film that ever have been or will be. Of course, we’re talking about Wayne and Garth of Wayne’s World. This month enter the Pain Cave or at least let Pain Cave enter you.

Imperial Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout
9% ABV
“So you find yourself surrounded by death and horror in the world, and you escape it into lust. But lust has no duration; it leaves you again in the desert.” Roughly 99% of this brew is going into bourbon barrels for a project for later. We anticipate having two kegs of this beer, none packaged, no growlers to go, and it will absolutely go quickly. Drink it only at the brewery and possibly just this day. We’re featuring a ton of coffee beers this day as well, don’t miss.

White Van

Dry-hopped Belgian-Style White
4.7% ABV
“And I thought, maybe he’s real, this wolf, and he’s really out there in a white van somewhere, riding around. Maybe he’s in the far back, pacing back and forth, circling, the pads of his huge paws raw and cracking, his thick, sharp claws dully clicking against the raised rusty steel track ridges on the floor. Maybe he’s sound asleep, or maybe he’s just pretending. And then the van stops somewhere, maybe, and somebody gets out and walks around the side to the back and grabs hold of the handle and flings the doors open wide.” Dry-hopped Belgian-Style White bursting with orange dreamsicle flavors and aromas.

Old Faithorn Can-4

Old Faithorn

American Pale Ale
5.5% ABV
Wait what? This beer already exists. True, but like all things it is evolving. Old Faithorn is the most Midwest of all of our beers. With the addition of End All and the successes of Snaggletooth and Lü we felt this beer needed a stronger home within our lineup. More on this coming, but take it from Andrew Mason, SOB’s recent addition as Director of Brewing Operations, “One of the opportunities I had coming on at SOB was to evaluate where our core line up stood. I liked all of the beers, but it felt like OFH needed a little nudge. We took the occasion of the new year to rethink this APA and make some tweaks. We swapped out one hop and increased our dry hop volume to give it a brighter, crisper quality that I think everyone will enjoy.” We’ll be giving away a limited amount of glassware for this feature, so come hang and learn about what Old Faithorn really means.

Thank you for your attention. You are wonderful.

Sometimes at the brewery we listen to rock and sometimes we listen to rap. On occasion you might hear some jazz, pop, or a splash of early punk. The important thing to realize is that we’re always lively. Always accomplishing something. Always planning for what we hope will not be your favorite new thing, or the brewery’s favorite new thing, but our favorite thing together. Never complacent and always adapting. Changing the world, probably.
