Established in 2017, the Viking Oktöberfest tradition continues September 15 at the brewery in Naperville.

After a sell out inaugural campaign, we’re throwing a bigger badder banger than ever before. Unlike Oath Day, this is a party rooted in Bavarian tradition with a healthy dose of Solemn Oath orchestrated chaos and influence. We’re also adding our first-ever family-friendly session in the morning complete with programming for the young ones. Keep reading. There’s more down there.

Saturday, September 15 from 5PM-10PM (21 & Over Only):

For the 21 & over party we’re shutting down the parking lot, bringing in a stage, and kicking off our Vikings IPA season in style. In addition to the malt-forward and resin-filled dankness of our celebrated Kidnapped By Vikings, we will be un-retiring Hunted By Vikings which is a beer we haven’t made since 2015. Built for the session vibes of an all night outdoor party, Hunted comes in with all the hops you are looking for at just over 4% ABV. Let’s join together dig into the live 70s musical treasures from the band Strung Out, enjoy some world class sausages from Wurst Kitchen with sprawling tents overhead, and kick back on our massive community tables set up for the proper German-inspired hang session without our usual three beer limit.

Saturday, September 15 from 11AM-3PM (Family-Friendly 12 & Under):

Never before have we geared one of our events towards including youngsters. That changes this year as we invite the smallest SOBs of all to join with all of us for a unique family-oriented Oktöberfest celebration. We’re partnering with our friends Anderson’s Bookshop, an independent local force that has been flooding our community smarter people since they began selling books in 1875. Anderson’s will be hosting storytime for the kids every thirty minutes and guiding arts and crafts throughout. Balloon animals, face painting, a magician, and more to come. Wurst Kitchen will also be on hand German fare more appropriate for the tiny humans.

If you are interested only in the Family-Friendly Celebration, tickets are $10 and free for any kids under the age of 12. If you’re planning on attending the evening session, any level ticket to that will gain you access to the morning session if you plan to do both. Our idea here is that if you have kids, bring your family out and have a Hunted By Vikings while the kids make some awesome crafts and between sessions go home and pawn them off on their grandparents and return to the brewery for some adult time. Everybody wins.

Tickets for everything will go on sale Friday, August 3 at noon online. The link will be posted here and across all of our social media channels. There will only be 750 tickets available. We repeat, there will only be 750 tickets available. This event sold out last year.

We’ll be releasing some one-off specialties. Full beer list to be announced soon.

Aurora’s Wurst Kitchen has been making all natural handmade sausages and smoked meats since Grover Cleveland was President of the United States. Established in 1895, this institution of Illinois is returning for their second year to the fest and we are proud to partner with owner Ed Schleining and be a part of their 123-year history. Menu in development but it’ll be super German. Watch this space.

Sometimes at Solemn Oath we listen to rock and sometimes we listen to rap. On occasion you might hear some jazz, pop, or a splash of early punk. The important thing to realize is that we’re always lively. Always accomplishing something. Always planning for what we hope will not be your favorite new thing, or the brewery’s favorite new thing, but our favorite thing together. Never complacent and always adapting. Changing the world, probably.
