Hosted at Camp Wandawega, one of Earth's most inspiring places, this weekend serves as a hat tip to camaraderie and creativity and is forged by the fortunate few that attend. The group consists of artists, artisans, brewers, chefs, designers, coffee roasters, and film makers, with each expected to add to the experience and help drive the weekend. Read more on that here.
For the second consecutive year we helped serve as the welcoming party, presenting our beers to the group shortly after arrival. There is a great deal of pride in shaking hands with a group of men striving to challenge the status quo and leave their mark on the world, and then placing a beer in it afterwards.
Jim Henson said, “There's not a word yet, for old friends who've just met.” And as old friends and new continue to get together for this annual event, we'll push to create this neologism. Probably over a few beers.
Until next year, gentlemen.
Special Thanks to Michael Kiser and Max Wastler for their insane efforts to bring this weekend together. Also thank you to David Hernandez and Tereasa Surratt for continuing to share Camp Wandawega with all of us; what they have built is something truly special. Also David Burkhart (video), Mike Pietrus (music), Andrew R. Wright (hand-carved type used for everything), and Hillary Schuster (design & development). Without the efforts of all of these people, we wouldn't have the privilege to be a part of this experience.
From time to time the people of Solemn Oath Brewery take the time to chronicle their travels and experiences to share here with you. How can we make ourselves better if we never experience anything new?
